With evidence of some fantastic and very innovative open days including careers evenings, National Veterinary Nursing Week 2009 was a real success.
Here is a taster of what practices got up to. Eastcott Veterinary Hospital in Swindon included a prize to win a day working at the vets for a budding Veterinary Nurse. What a great idea!
The Grove Veterinary Group in Norfolk took part in a charity sky dive and Brook House Vet Hospital in Southampton organised a sponsored “Doggy Paddle”.
The British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) received an overwhelming number of entries to this year’s National Veterinary Nursing Week Competition. Unfortunately there were too many applicants to mention everyone but BVNA were delighted to see so many more veterinary nurses getting involved this year and hope to see many more in 2010.
This year’s competition was for ‘The Best Waiting Room Display’ and the winning entries are
- 1st Prize: 2 days at BVNA Congress including overnight accommodation and dinner dance tickets for 4 nurses went to the RSPCA Animal Hospital in Birmingham
- 2nd Prize: £250 shopping vouchers went to Vets and Pets in Wakefield
- 3rd Prize: £50 Thornton’s Hamper went to Gower Veterinary Surgery in Swansea
